LEARN MORE ABOUT ME
Some things are not taught to us and we need to learn them in order to understand ourselves better. You cannot know what you do not know, for instance unless you are informed about the attachment theory you would not be aware it even existed, or what an impact having an insecure attachment style has on our nervous systems.
I am an experiential counsellor and started my journey a long time ago. I travelled abroad extensively, looking for somewhere I felt at home, I sat on mountains in India and have done all sorts of weird and wonderful retreats, courses and practices. However, these only temporarily distracted me.
I had to start to clear all the concepts society had covered me in and only then I began to find who I was and what I wanted to do. My journey within was and is my most exciting journey of all. Now that I know how to go within, I can help you too. I have literally re-programmed myself with help from wonderful guides a long the way.
I am qualified in -Brainspotting (a trauma and PTSD resolution tool), therapeutic counselling (mixed methodology), addictions counselling and have a BA Honours degree in person-centered psychotherapy. I have also studied NLP and Hypnotherapy. I am a registered member of the BACP and follow their codes and ethics. I use rewind therapy for PTSD (shock and short term trauma) and work with C-PTSD from domestic violence and childhood trauma using a variety of methods including but not limited to Brainspotting, somatics and a bottom up client led approach.
I am committed to continued practice development and have certificates in motivational interviewing, mindfulness, disassociation, trauma, somatic therapy, group therapy and Brainspotting.
Thank you for taking the time to read some of my journey, maybe together we will walk part of the way too?
